I thought the faint musty smell in the basement was just old concrete, but the radon test kit I picked up last week came back high. The inspector found a small gap where the pipe for the sump pump enters the slab, and he sealed it with hydraulic cement and a special silicone. I'm relieved we caught the radon pipe leak before winter sealed the house up tight.
